OKA patented “Box-Pile” retaining wall system has been developed based on a combined design philosophies of soldier pile wall, gravity wall and reinforced earth system. The design philosophies adopted are well proven and accepted in context of Civil Engineering. The soldier pile wall system had been used as far back as the Roman military engineers.

"POST & BOARD" SYSTEM

OKA “Post & Board” retaining wall system has been developed based on design philosophy of soldier pile wall. The soldier pile is designed either as simple cantilever or as tie-back system on less favorable ground conditions.

REINFORCED CONCRETE PILE / POST

Material specifications in principal satisfy Section 7 of BS 8004:1986 on the requirements of a normally reinforced concrete piles. While the bending moment capacities are well above the requirements of MS 1314 : Part 3 : 2004 “ Precast Concrete Piles : part 3 : Precast Reinforced Concrete Square Piles (RC Pile) – Class M, Class J and Class S”

Concrete Grade, fcu :  45 N/mm2                                     Steel Bars : 460 N/mm2

OKA standard RC piles are available in 3 (three) different strength classes i.e. L, M and H for different bending moment capacities.  The bending moment capacities shall be based on batch testing in accordance with bending test carried out in accordance with method statement in MS 1314.

The structural design is based on BS. 8110.  High grade concrete is used to ensure that the finished product is durable and of low permeability.
